CodecNova Light Edition 1.2.0

CodecNova Light Edition is a free version of CodecNova lossless video codec. It's designed to be used as mediatory video codec in 2D and 3D animation rendering, video editing and video tape data pickup. The codec has three compression modes: visually lossy mode (for movies), visually lossless mode (for high quality still image videos and animation) and absolutely lossless mode (for science).

What's new in this version:
Version 1.2.0 added support of several colorspaces, such as YV12, I420, UYVY, YUY2, YVYU. Virtual Dub users now can use CodecNova codec in "fast recompress" Virtual Dub mode.

Compression modes and user interface:
CodecNova Lossless Video Codec has three compression modes. They are made for different purposes.
Visual lossy mode designed to compress movies captured from VHS video tape or for using with video camera data. In this mode video code uses YUV 4:2:0 colorspace. This is suitable for still image videos, but it can cause artifacts while using this mode with high contrast graphics or text. This compression mode provides best compression ratio.
Visually lossless mode designed for precise 2D, 3D animation, texts, screen capturing, so everywhere, where sharp details are present. YUV 4:2:2 colorspace is used in this mode.
Absolutely lossless mode designed for scientific purposes. In this mode codec preserves all information, so nothing is lost. It's like every video frame is compressed by some general purpose archiver, like a Rar, or Zip. RGB colorspace is used in this mode. Compression ratio is lewest comparaly to other modes. We recommed to use this mode on exception cases only.
User can select one of the compression modes in configuration dialog, as it is shown below:
