Forevid is a free, open-source software for the forensic analysis of surveillance videos. The objective of the Forevid project is to offer a free and easy-to-use tool for the law enforcement and forensic community, containing similar features as the corresponding commercial software. Forevid offers you an extensive set of features required in your forensic case work, including e.g. various options for video playback, processing and result documentation. Forevid uses well-known Avisynth frameserver as its video processing backend. Forevid is developed at the Forensic laboratory of National Bureau of Investigation, Finland. The software is freely available under the terms of GNU General Public License. You can use Forevid for different purposes. You can either use it as an intuitive and simple tool for previewing surveillance videos, or as an advanced video editing tool for enhancing low quality videos, analyzing the events in videos and documenting your analysis results.
This excellent Forensic Video Analysis Software can also edit videos enabling you to add text, blur or spotlight a part of video, add lines, filled shapes or arrows, add shapes with borders, crop image or add image watermark. Moreover, Forevid allows you to enhance your video using advanced filters such as, sharpen, blur, deinterlace, turn your video left or right, flip video vertical or horizontal, and even act as a reverse video player allowing you to play your video backwards by using the 'reverse' filter. Also the software enables you to combine video clips into a single file, cut video, add bookmarks and export video bookmarks to a PDF file. The edited video can be saved to lossless MP4, MKV, FLV or as a standalone Forevid SFX Player (exe) file.
