Local Subtitles for WMP 1.6.1
Local Subtitles for WMP is a small plug-in for WMP 9 and above, that shows local non-SAMI subtitles. This Plug-In will enable you to play movies with subtitles in Windows Media Player. Supports multiple subtitle files simultaneously. Not being a filter, it doesn't modify DS/MF pipeline and has no performance overhead. Specifically oriented on Windows Media Player 9/10/11/12, Windows 7 x86/x64. Its sole purpose is enabling textual subtitles, that accompany media files in formats not supported directly by Microsoft. The latest version also brings support for Windows 10 with its built-in MKV and FLAC features.
How to enable subtitles in Windows Media Player (WMP) 12:
To turn on subtitles when watching films, movies in Windows Media Player, there are a few steps to perform after installing Local Subtitles for WMP. First, rename the subtitle to have the same name as the video file and check if the video and subtitle files are in the same folder. Then play your video with Windows Media Player and subtitles should be automatically displayed on the screen. See the example below, the correct video and subtitle file name.
