MakeMKV 1.9.7 Beta

MakeMKV enables you to convert DVD movies into MKV (a.k.a. Matroska) files. The only thing it does (and does well) - it converts the video clips from proprietary (and usually encrypted) disk into a set of MKV files, preserving most information but not changing it in any way. The MKV format can store multiple video/audio tracks with all meta-information and preserve chapters. There are lots of players that can play MKV files nearly on all platforms. DVD is fully supported with support for non-matching regions and ability to process disks with "structure copy protection". MakeMKV preserves all video and audio tracks (HD audio), as well as chapter information, meta data. MakeMKV is easy to use, it automatically detects your DVD and all you have to do is click a button to start the copy process. MakeMKV can also use Video_TS folders or ISO files as input source. MakeMKV also includes a streaming server that enables you to stream a DVD to your Xbox or other compatible devices. MakeMKV is currently in beta and free using the registration key that can be found here. The free version of is limited to DVDs, a paid version is available that supports Blu-ray discs.
