MPXPLAY is a small and fast DOS (Disk Operating System) based 32-bit audio player with text based GUI. MPXPLAY offers everything you might want in a music player. It will make your music sounds like you've never had before. The program supports pretty much any format you throw at it (AAC, AC3, AIF, APE, FLAC, MP2/MP3, MPC, Vorbis, WMA, WV audio codecs, WAV/W64 files), can play sound from videos using the FLV, MKV, WEBM, MPG/VOB, AVI, ASF, MP4/MOV/M4A and OGG containers, and you can also install plugins for DTS, MOD, SPX and OPUS file formats if you need them. Audio CD playing and ripping is also possible (CDW). It supports the following playlist types: M3U, M3U8, PLS, FPL, CUE, MXU.

Other features include playlist load and save, drive and directory scan, direct playing from directories, playlist editing functions, tag (metadata) editing of ASF, FLAC, MP4, OGG files and ID3v1, ID3v2, APETag (AAC, AC3, APE, MP2, MP3, MPC), fast forward and rewind (seeking) between the songs, cross-fade songs in real time, auto volume correction; dynamic limiter; surround, speed (freq) control, tone control (mp2, mp3, mpc only), AAC, FLAC, MP3, OGG, WavPack encoding with DLLs, DSP and visual plugins, LCD-display handling (DOS only), FTP client: direct playing from ftp-servers, multichannel audio decoding/playing, and much more...

You don’t need to install MPXPLAY on your system. Just unzip it to whatever folder you like, and you may start enjoying your music right away. If you’re looking for a ULTRA SMALL, fast, music player with support for a wide range of file formats just give MPXPLAY a chance. Since we are talking about DOS in times of Windows 8 and mobile (devices) madness, it can be a bit difficult to get started with MPXPLAY, but once you do, you'll be glad you made the effort. MPXPLAY is the lightest music player you've ever seen with the best sound quality.
