The famous Matroska pack, not only for playing Matroska media files, but it will also allow playback of most modern video formats on any DirectShow player, even with Windows Media Player 6.4/7/8/9/10. The Matroska Pack include both 32-bit and 64-bit codecs, so they work on both x86 and x64 variants of Windows. For this reason Matroska Pack Full has gathered some attention from the video compression scene, and has established itself as a very slim and intelligent alternative to the usually overloaded codec packs out there. Almost all you need to play .mkv (Matroska video) and .mka (Matroska audio) files under DirectShow players, such as Windows Media Player, MPC-HC, Zoom Player etc. It includes DivX, Xvid, Ogg, FFDShow, VSFilter, CoreWavpack, RealMediaSplitter, MPEG2 Decoder, MatroskaMuxer, MatroskaDiag, and many others.

Matroska Pack Lite: This pack contains only the very basic stuff needed to play Matroska files with Vorbis audio and Subtitles on DirectShow players, so in order to be able to play your files you need the right video and audio decoders installed already. Also coming with it is the matroska muxer filter, allowing you to create MKV files from DirectShow based muxing and capturing apps, such as ATV2000 or VirtualVCR_matroska.
