Nikon NEF Codec 1.31.4

NEF Codec (Nikon RAW NEF Codec) is a addon for Windows Explorer, Windows 7 Media Center, Windows Photo Viewer, and Windows Live Photo Gallery that makes Nikon RAW (.NEF) image files as easy to work with as JPEG and TIFF images. View NEF files thoughout Windows, including NEF files from Nikon film scanners.

Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Windows Photo Viewer, and other applications that use the Nikon NEF Codec to display pictures will show the previews embedded in the NEF (RAW) files.

For those who do not know what a "RAW codec" is, when you import a RAW image from your camera into your machine, if your PC has no support for that RAW file, it will not display the image thumbnail. In addition, none of the Windows image applications and viewers will be able to open the RAW files.
