webPGUI 0.2.1

webPGUI is a Windows software utility designed to to help you convert images to the WebP format. WebP is a format created by Google that offers significantly higher compression compared to JPEG. The Google-provided tools for WebP conversion are command-line based and require configuring various options through parameters. This application provides a user-friendly interface to simplify the process.

Why should I use webPGUI
You can use one of many encoder tools and plugins available, but none of them have the same options of the official encoder tool provided by Google. Also, some plugins (like the Photoshop Plugin) are outdated and don’t produce the better output. If you want to encode your images with total control, you can use webPGUI to easily access to the documentation and change all the little options to produce the better output.

How to view webP images
Google Chrome can open WebP files natively. Or install WebP Windows CODEC if you want to view WebP files in Windows Photo Viewer and their thumbnails in Windows Explorer.
